The Prism Building

Charlotte, North Carolina
Prism Building Parti-Pris Statement
The Prism building is conceived as a vertical neighborhood, where stacked programmatic
layers, retail, workspaces, and residences, are organized into distinct yet interconnected
communities. Sky terraces and shared amenity zones act as “streets in the sky,” fostering social
interaction while breaking down the scale of the high-rise into human-centered environments.

Rising as a striking counterpoint to its surroundings, The Prism introduces a bold new architectural identity to Charlotte’s urban fabric. The 11-story mixed-use tower combines commercial space, office suites, and residential units within a sculptural white form defined by its sharply faceted roofline and dynamic vertical expression.
Irregularly placed, softly colored windows animate the façade, while slender vertical fins draw the eye upward, giving the building a sense of movement and lightness. At street level, a transparent and inviting base activates the pedestrian experience, seamlessly connecting the building to the life of the city.
Designed to be both functional and iconic, The Prism offers a vibrant blend of uses while establishing a new visual landmark. In an area long characterized by conventional architecture, it stands as a point of civic pride—distinct, memorable, and unmistakably Charlotte.
